Mahommedali Currim Chagla ( M.C.Chagla) was Chief Justice of Bombay High Court from 1948 to 1958. The Chief Justice in many countries is the name for the presiding member of a Supreme Court in Commonwealth- or other countries with an Anglosaxon type of justice, such as the Supreme Court of the United States, the Supreme Court of Canada, the Supreme Court of New Zealand, the Supreme... The Bombay High Court was inaugurated on August 14, 1862. ...


Born in 1900 in Bombay he was appointed as Professor of law to Government Law College, Bombay in 1927. He was appointed as a judge to Bombay High Court in 1941.


After retirement he served as Indian ambassador to USA.
