The Makua are the largest ethnic group in northern Mozambique. They live in the region to the north of the Zambezi River.

Makua is the Hawaiian word for "parent" or "any relative of one’s parents such as an aunt or uncle." It also means "the provider or one who cares for another." It’s a place where the dolphins play in the morning and go fishing during the day.
