Transportation

Malden is fortunate in having one of the largest general aviation airports in the State of Missouri. Malden is listed in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems (NPIAS), which indentifies airports that are significant to national transportation. The Malden Regional Airport was an Air Force Base from 1942 to 1960, as operated by the military and then under civilian contracts. Malden Army Airfield Preservation Society (MAAPS) is an organization that works to preserve the past of the Malden Army Airfield. The MAAPS Military Museum is located in the airport's terminal building and MAAPS also maintains a Veterans Wall of Honor.the area as Malden's runways can handle most corporate aircrafts. Executives would have the advantage of flying directly into Malden and not have a long commute from a distant airport.

     The City of Malden, located five miles south of the north boundary line of Dunklin County, sits on a sand ridge extending north and south between the lowlands of New Madrid County on the east and the foothills of the Ozarks on the west.
