The peso was a currency issued on the Malvinas Islands (now the Falklands Islands) in 1829. It was issued by Louis Vernet, appointed Governor by the Republic of Buenos Aires. It is not indicated on the paper money issued whether this currency was equal to the Argentine peso fuerte or peso moneda corriente. The peso circulated until 1833, when the British occupation of the islands began.
