Manawatu is a region in the North Island of New Zealand.
The Manawatu Gorge (in Maori Te Apiti, meaning 'The Narrow Passage') runs between the Ruahine and Tararua Ranges of the North Island of New Zealand, linking the Manawatu and Hawke's Bay regions.
The road through the Manawatu Gorge was completed in 1872, and acts as the primary link between the two sides of the lower North Island.
Manawatu forced Otago into submission at a waterlogged Arena Manawatu yesterday with a 4-1 win in a game in which it totally dominated the second half after leading 2-1 at the break.
Manawatu dominated the second spell with Totori scoring another quality goal, toying with two defenders before his pace burned them off and a shot from the edge of the box gave Aburn no chance.
