The niches on the front mandapa carry in the south Ganesa, Nataraja, Bhikshatana, and Subrahmanya and in the north, Gauriprasada, Durga, Ardhanari and Bhirava.
The mandapa immediately preceeding the sanctum is approached by steps leading to it from the north and the south sides and also from the great mandapa in the east.
As the flooring of the mandapa is on a high elevation, the stpes rise to a considerable height forming a high platform in the front.
The 'mandapa' contains fifty-six pillars, each 3.6 metres high, forty of which are regularly disposed to form an aisle all round the three sides, while the remaining sixteen form a rectangular court in the centre.
Mandapa A large rectangular ceiling on the east front has a high dome with a pendant lotus built in the middle with sculptured parrots pecking at it.
Abutting the southern wall of the courtyard is a hundred- pillared 'mandapa' with three inscriptions in three different languages stating that it was built by Krishnadeva Raya in AD 1516.
