Mannoroth the Destructor is a fictional character set in Blizzard Entertainment's Warcraft Universe. Mannoroth was previously the leader of the Pit Lords, under the command of Archimonde, until he was killed by Grom Hellscream. After his death Azgalor was made leader of the Pit Lords. It was Mannoroth's blood that the orcs on Draenor drank which gave them their infamous blood lust. Mannoroth is also one of the highest populated servers of the online MMORPG, World of Warcraft. It is a PVP (Player Versus Player) type of server. Mannoroth was the first PVP server, and second server ever, to open the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj, a 40-Man Raid Instance set in Silithius.


The War of the Ancients

Mannoroth was one of the demons involved in the original attack on Kalimdor many centuries ago during the War of the Ancients. He was defeated by Cenarius and his followers and sent back into the Twisting Nether as the Well of Eternity was destroyed in the great sundering. When humans started to use magic recklessly the demons felt the magic and prepared for a second attack. The Well of Eternity is a magical pool of water in the Warcraft Universe, and is a source of arcane magic. ...


The Corruption of the Orcs

Kil'jaeden thought that the Legion needed an initial force to weaken the denizens of Azeroth before their true invasion. When he discovered the orcs, he corrupted their elder shaman Ner'zhul. However, to the Legion's chagrin, Ner'zhul became reluctant to give his people entirely over to the pursuit of war. Kil'jaeden went to Ner'zhul's apprentice Gul'dan, turning him into a powerful warlock, allowing him to found the Shadow Council, a secretive group that manipulated the orc clans and spread savagery and warlock magics throughout them. The Shadow Council eventually summoned Mannoroth and convinced the clan chieftains that drinking the demon's blood would make them invincible. Grom Hellscream led many other Chieftains in drinking the blood. Kiljaeden is a Supreme Demon Lord originating from the world of Argus and then the Twisting Nether in the fantasy Warcraft Universe. ... With the help of Medivh the Shadow Council opened the Dark Portal and the Orcs invaded Azeroth. The Orcs defeated the humans in the First War and nearly won the Second War but Gul'dan betrayed the warchief, Orgrim Doomhammer, and left the horde in search of the Tomb of Sargeras, taking a large number of orcs with him. This led to the defeat of the Horde. The remaining orcs were rounded up and placed in internment camps. The orcs, and in turn, Mannoroth, had failed. Mannoroth vowed that he would have his revenge on the failure that was the orcs. The Death of Mannoroth

After the Scourge had successfully completed their job, which the orcs had failed, the Burning Legion invaded Azeroth once more. Mannoroth was eager to destroy the remaining orcs on Azeroth but Archimonde convinced Mannoroth that they might be of some use. Tichondrius asked Mannoroth to pour his blood into a fountain and when the Warsong Clan came upon it Grom Hellscream once again led the orcs in drinking the blood. Grom and his Warsong Clan killed the demigod Cenarius and many Night Elves along with him. When Thrall returned from seeing the Oracle Medivh, he and Jaina Proudmoore captured the possessed Grom and returned him to his original state. Thrall and Grom then set off to find and destroy Mannoroth. When they found him, Mannoroth easily put Thrall out of the fight, but Grom managed to overcome his curse and slice open the stomach of the demon lord, resulting in a fiery conflagration which consumed Mannoroth and mortally wounded Grom. Currently, a memorial stands in World of Warcraft's Orgrimmar, near Thrall's Great Hall. A large tree carries Mannoroth's massive plate armour and skull, as a symbol of the Horde's strength against the Burning Legion, as well as to serve a memorial for Grom Hellscream's sacrifice. Mannoroth's broken polearm and Grom Hellscream's grave can be found in Felfire Hill in Southeastern Ashenvale.
