The literacy rate of Mansehra is quite high in comparison to the rest of Pakistan. Hindko is their first language as well as Pashto; and Urdu is spoken by every one. 50% of its population understand English. The majority of the people here are from the Gillani, Tirmizi, Jilani, from the Syed tribe.
