Maputo is a province of Mozambique. It has an area of 113,058 km² and a population of approximately fourteen million (2002). Matola is the capital of the province.The capitol of the nation, Maputo is located in the province. The city is among the worlds poorest with an unemployment rate of 93%. Traveling in this area is not advised due to an ongoing civil war.
