Marc Riboud is a French photographer born 1923 in Lyon. He was in the French Resistance movement from 1943-1945. He studied at the Ecole Centrale in Lyon (1945-1948). He gave up a promising career as an engineer to become a freelance photographer. Riboud was the only photojournalist allowed to enter North Vietnam and cover the Vietnam war from the North. President of Magnum from 1975 to 1976.
