In 1940 it briefly became the 51st Street Theater, but was reclaimed by the Warners as the Hollywood Theater, and in 1947 was renamed Warner Theater.
On January 22, 1949, it reopened as the MarkHellinger Theatre (for MarkHellinger, a Broadway critic and columnist).
