The Markab are a race in the fictional Babylon 5 universe.
Markab is also an alternate spelling of the Syrian castle Margat.

There are two distinct species of Markab easly distinguishable by the set of the jaw (either an extreme "overbite" on the lower jaw or the upper).
The island Drafa was noted among the general Markab population for its "excesses." The island was isolated by weather for nearly a year.
Markab traders are also known to sell a root (similar in color and shape to ginger) whose function is dubiously translated as an aphrodisiac or a floor wax.
