Martha Wainwright (born May 8, 1976) is a Canadian-American folk-pop singer. She is the sister of Rufus Wainwright and the daughter of Loudon Wainwright III and Kate McGarrigle. She appeared at the 2007 Bonnaroo and at Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival, Inverness-shire in August 2007. Wainwright consistently receives strong positive reviews for her performances.[1] Wainwright married Brad Albetta in September 2007. She recently dueted with Snow Patrol at the V Festival, and performed with her brother at the Hollywood Bowl in September 2007. While I don't think Martha's debut is at quite the level of the two other albums I just cited, she leaves you thinking she might be able to get there.
martha wainwright has a rich, resonant voice and there are some truly gorgeous melodies on this album.
With her debut album appearing at the age of 28, Martha Wainwright has lived in a musical world since she was born.
