Geography

Matlock is located at 43°14'35" North, 95°56'4" West (43.242958, -95.934486)¹.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.0 km² (0.4 mi²). 1.0 km² (0.4 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics

As of the census² of 2000, there are 83 people, 33 households, and 26 families residing in the city. The population density is 84.3/km² (219.6/mi²). There are 35 housing units at an average density of 35.6/km² (92.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 97.59% White, 0.00% African American, 2.41% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 33 households out of which 36.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 78.8% are married couples living together, 0.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 21.2% are non-families. 18.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 3.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.52 and the average family size is 2.88.
