Matt Maguire flexes his injured hip for training staff during the week.
It was possibly the last thing coach Grant Thomas wanted to hear, with Maguire's fellow key defenders Luke Penny and Max Hudghton still on the injured list, but he said yesterday he admired Maguire's honesty and his desire to put the team ahead of his own wants.
He was optimistic that Maguire would be right for the Saints' next match, which he said would be in "two weeks' time" — rather than next week should they lose to the Crows.
