Matthieu Descoteaux (b. 23 September 1977 in Pierreville, Quebec) is a professional ice hockey defenceman. He was selected in the first round of the 1996 NHL Entry Draft, 19th overall, by the Edmonton Oilers. Descoteaux played only five games at the NHL level, all with the Montreal Canadiens, and is generally considered to have been a poor draft choice.
