History Struggling through poverty, Max spent seven years in jail starting at the age of eighteen years old for charges ranging from drug possession to armed robbery. During this time, at the suggestion of his good friend J. Chillz, Max spent his days writing rhymes, which paid off upon release in early 2005 when his longtime friend, now manager Mike Bruno, brought some of his rhymes to fellow Harlem native Jim Jones, who quickly signed the rapper to a two-album deal Asylum Records. With great musical talent comes great responsibility, and Harlem rapper Max B takes that charge with the utmost seriousness. The self-described star quarterback of Jim Jones’ Byrd Gang group, Max Biggavel was a dominant presence on 2005’s City of God mixtape and each subsequent Jim Jones project, most recently the career-changing Hustler’s P.O.M.E. Best known for his eccentric hooks, Max is now capitalizing on the Byrd Gang platform to showcase his all-around rap package to the masses. “They need a powerful n***a again man,” Max observes. “Fall back and let a n***a like Biggavel come sweep the rest of this shit under the table.” A former stick up kid who spent nearly nine years of his life behind bars, Max B is currently out on a Hip Hop record-setting $1.5 million bail. Honing his rap skills while serving an eight-year bid from 1997 to 2005, Max would escape the bleak reality of prison life by smothering himself in music. It was behind the G wall that Biggavel perfected his craft, circulating tapes that became favorites throughout the penitentiary building. When Max B’s longtime friend and manager Mike Bruno passed a demo along to Diplomats Capo Jim Jones in 2005, a collaboration was promptly arranged. The chemistry between the two fellow Harlemites was evident on standout hits such as “G’s Up, Ho’s Down,” off Jones’ Harlem: Diary of a Summer album, and ushered in a new era of prosperity for Jim Jones. In return, Max became the 1 draft pick for Jones’ Byrd Gang group, which was formed as part of a Warner/Asylum joint venture. Swiftly leaving a mark on the streets with their MOB: Members of Byrdgang mixtape masterpiece and a highly praised installment of DJ Drama’s Gangsta Grillz series, The 7 Day Theory, the Byrd Gang was on a fast track to rap stardom before Max B was locked up on conspiracy charges and Stack Bundles was murdered. Back in the streets as of July 11, 2006, Biggavel is spending long nights in the studio conducting the Byrd Gang wave. Rap’s equivalent of Jason Kidd on the NBA courts, Max raises the bar on every group project. “I don’t mean to toot my own horn, but anywhere on this planet I go, whoever f**k with me, is gonna become better. I bring the best out of people with my talent in a positive way.” Known for his prolific musical yield, Max B has delivered over 60 original songs and 5 mixtapes of the highest caliber to the streets before having an official album out. Right before being imprisoned in 2006, Max dropped the Big Mike-cosigned Conspiracy Theory, the first part of his Public Domain series and a certified hood classic. After whetting appetites with a new installment, The Prequel, Max is currently gearing up to release Part II of the trinity. Even when Max is rapping over another artists’ beat, be it a Jay Z, 50 Cent, T.I. or Young Jeezy record, his gravely voice, unorthodox hooks, and versatile flows distinguish the song. With his solo album Reaping the Benefits set to follow in the heels of Byrd Gang’s official debut, Biggavel is prepared to build a case for the late bloomers on why he encompasses the greatness of B.I.G., Jay Z, and Tupac. “I bring all three of them artists together- I’m that outstanding, I’m that swaggerific. I’m that hook man, I’m that wave man, I’m that 16 bar man, I’m that ghostwriter man, I'm the go to guy, I'm the guy that make your song sound like no other. Every song I make is fire, every one. I can’t say I’m all three of the greatest put together and then come with some bullshit. I gotta come with the superbness.
Incarceration On September 29, 2006, Max B was arrested in connection with a murder and attempted robbery.[1] His bail was set at $2 million as he awaited trial. He is facing a life sentence. is the 272nd day of the year (273rd in leap years) in the Gregorian calendar. ...
