Max Perlich at the Hollywood premiere of New Line's Blow
Character actor Max Perlich spent many years playing bit parts on television and in teen films such as Can't Buy Me Love (1987) and Lost Angels (1989); his roles usually were of the slacker or juvenile delinquent variety. As he outgrew the teen genre, his later performances, although still minor, were distinguished by eccentricity and twitchy, nervous energy, fully realized in the film Drugstore Cowboy. He has excelled in supporting roles in films such as Rush (1991) and Georgia (1995). Along with his continuing work in films, he has had recurring roles in television shows such as Homicide: Life on the Streets (1997) and Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1998). For the Richard Linklater movie, see Slacker (movie) The term slacker, in contemporary western culture, applies generally to young people who underachieve at school, work or both. ... A 30-year-old murder and an associate's wife complicate an architect's plans to build a mall in a depressed community.
It has a decent fight scene but is obviously not an action movie, and though there are beautiful girls in the film, it isn't what I'd call romantic.
Uma plays an interesting character plot-wise, cos she just shows up in town to (inadvertently) stir up some trouble, then disappears about 20 minutes before the end of the movie, which is a really odd thing to do.
MaxPerlich, as mentioned above, is funny as hell to me. He gleams my cube.
