With partner and fiancée[1] Albena Denkova, he is a two-time and reigning World Champion, two-time European silver medalist, and Grand Prix Final champion. Denkova & Staviski are the first Bulgarian figure skaters to medal at the World Figure Skating Championships. Staviski is Jewish and originally from Russia. He originally competed for Russia with Anastasia Belova. He teamed up with Albena Denkova in 1996 and began competing for Bulgaria. Staviski receieved Bulgarian citizenship. In 2000 Denkova/Staviski moved from Sofia to Odintsovo, to have better training conditions.
