The film is based on a popular hindu mythological tale called "Sesirekha Parinayam", derivative from Mahabharata. It has been re-released on big screen from time to time and still capable of pulling enough crowds to run a house-full show today. The film is also known for its photographic brilliance by Marcus Bartley and presentation of concepts way ahead of its time.
