In the comic book Lucifer, Mazikeen is the war leader of the Lilim, a race traced back to Lilith. Holding this position she lends the might of her army to the will of the Morningstar. A fearsome warrior and a respected leader, Mazikeen is a prominent character in the Lucifer comics.

Initially Lucifer Morningstar's consort while he reigned in Hell in Neil Gaiman's The Sandman, Mazikeen's face was half putrified and half human. When Lucifer resigned to go play the piano at the Los Angeles elite bar "Lux", she followed her master and became part of the staff, covering half her face with a mask.

When two entities in search of Lucifer's new gateway attacked and burned down Lux, she was only resuscitated by the intervention of the Basanos, and due to the flawed understanding of Jill Presto (the Basanos's vessel) her face was made fully human. When Lucifer refused to assist her in restoring her face, she defected to her family, the Lilim-in-Exile. As their war leader, she lead their army against Lucifer's creation and allied herself briefly with the Basanos. After a desperate gambit, she bought Lucifer enough time to destroy the Basanos and regain control of his creation. Lucifer Morningstar reaccepted her into his service and made the Lilim-in-Exile the standing army of his Universe.

In the ongoing story, she helms the Naglfar into the Mansions of the Silence.
