The Media Control Charts are the official music charts in Germany. They are divided into different categories, but the most important are the German Top100 singles and albums charts. These charts are collected and published by the company Media Control GfK International.

Top100 Singles
The German single charts only consist of actual CD sales. Between 1989 and 2001, airplay was also involved but only for the ranks between 51 and 100. Since September 2004 downloads have also been added to the calculation. Songs that do not climb higher than position 50 within twelve weeks will be removed.
