Meerhout is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Antwerp. The municipality only comprises the town of Meerhout proper. On January 1st, 2004 Meerhout had a total population of 9,279 (4,651 males and 4,628 females). The total area is 36.29 kmē which gives a population density of 255.71 inhabitants per kmē.
