The Mega Society is a High IQ society that restricts membership to people providing test evidence of an unusually high IQ. According to the Society's constitution, entrance is open to "people who have scored at the one-in-a-million level on a test of general intelligence which is credibly claimed by its authors to be able to discriminate at that level"[1]. There is currently no reputable psychometric evidence that IQ can be accurately measured at this level [2] and consequently any group defining itself on this qualification standard is in serious doubt. This topic is discussed in the society's newsletter, Noesis. A high IQ society is an organisation that limits membership to people who are within a certain high percentile of IQ test results, theoretically representing the most intelligent people in the world. ...

The Mega Test consists of a series of puzzles with no time limit; instead of measuring a mixture of speed and complexity of thought, as is the standard metric of IQ, the Mega Test (and others) measures just complexity; a non-standard approach. Ronald K. Hoeflin is a psychometrician, creator of the Mega and Titan tests, and founder of the Top One Percent Society, the One-in-a-Thousand Society, the Prometheus Society, and the Mega Society. ...
