Megadyptes antipodes

The genus Megadyptes ("large diver") contains one species of penguin.


Megadyptes antipodes are commonly known as Yellow-eyed Penguins. In the language of the Maori people native to New Zealand, they are known as "hoiho" or "noise-shouter".
