Meinhardt Schomberg, 3rd Duke of Schomberg, 1st Duke of Leinster (30 June 1641 - 5 July 1719) was an Irish general, whose father was also a famous military officer. Schomberg's father, Charles von Schomberg was one of William III's chief officers at the Battle of the Boyne. The elder Schomberg would perish at this battle, while the younger one would be created a Knight of the Garter, Duke of Leinster, and inherit his deceased father's titles after the battle.
