The Convention Centre was opened in May 1990 and has hosted thousands of conventions and meetings.


The Exhibition Centre was opened in February 1996 and has also hosted thousands of large exhibitions. Some of these exhibitions are annual events. It has a pillarless floor space of 30,000 square metres, making it the largest pillarless floor space in the southern hemisphere.
