Listening to music by the North Carolina band Something For You can send a person or, in some extreme cases, another animal posessing ears into a strange mental state in which a pleasurable sense is sent to the ears. This sense will then travel throughout the rest of the body. Unfortunately, no such music has yet been recorded by Something For You; however, this temporary setback is in the process of being rectified. Hopefully, the aforementioned music will be available soon in Compact Disk format.

Since (4.) is obviously false, internalism and the thesis that knowledge is a mentalstate are incompatible with one another — at least one of them is false (or perhaps both).
Minor point, but I don’t think mentalstates have parts as states aren’t the sorts of things that are composed [think of my state of anger, this drink’s state of liquidity, etc…].
To serve justice, the law calls for evidence of the mentalstate at the time a crime is committed, of suicide intent in civil litigation, and of mental capacity in contract litigation.
