Mercedes Bresso (born on 12 July 1944) is an Italian politician and President of the Piedmont Region. She is a member of the Democrats of the Left party (coming from the Italian Communist Party). After her election as governor of Piedmont, she resigned from the office as Member of European Parliament. She is a Grand Officer of the Italian Republic.
