1959 Park Lane, showing the long fins.

The Mercury Park Lane was a full size automobile produced by the Mercury Division of the Ford Motor Company from 1958 to 1960 and by the Lincoln Mercury Division of the Ford Motor Company from 1964 to 1968. The vehicle name was introduced in 1958 and applied to Mercury's preimum automobile line. In 1960 the Park Lane name was dropped for the coming 1961 model year as Mercury focused its production efforts on the lower end Monterey and Meteor 800 series. The name was reinstated in 1964 as Mercury again attempted to retrench its models in the price gap between Ford and Lincoln. Mercury retired the name at the end of the 1968 model year. In 1968 the mercury park lane convertible looks like a twin of the monterey convertible of the same year. Top line Mercuries were henceforth known as the Mercury Marquis and the Mercury Grand Marquis.
