The Meseta is the universal currency of the Algol star system in the Phantasy Star series of videogames. It was introduced in Phantasy Star I, the first game of the series, and has since been established as one of the trademarks of the series.
It should be noted that, up until Phantasy Star Online, a visual representation of the Meseta was never provided in-game. It is only in the Phantasy Star Online games that Meseta has an in-game graphic.
The southern portion of the Meseta is further divided by twin mountain ranges, the Montes de Toledo running to the east and the Sierra de Guadalupe, to the west.
The mountain regions that rim the Meseta Central and are associated with it are the Sierra Morena, the Cordillera Cantábrica, and the Sistema Ibérico.
External to the Meseta Central lie the Pyrenees in the northeast and the Sistema Penibético in the southeast.
