The Metro Orange Line bicycle path is a mixed Class 1 bike path and Class 2 bike lane that parallels the Metro Orange Line busway in Los Angeles County. The path starts at Chandler Boulevard and the North Hollywood Redline, and runs West. It is a Class 2 bike lane until between Coldwater Canyon Avenue and Fulton Avenue, where it becomes a Class 1 bike path. It makes its way Westward between Chandler Boulevard, Oxnard Street, Victory Boulevard, and so on until De Soto, where it re-joins the surface roads. Map of California showing Los Angeles County. ...
Along the path there are frequent intersections that can be difficult for cyclists to navigate. The crossing buttons are not adjacent to the curb cuts, and many of the curb cuts run diagonal to the path of travel.

Being adjacent to an MTA busway there are numerous parking areas. From East to West you will find parking @ the redline connection, Van Nuys, Sepulveda, Balboa, Reseda, and Pierce College (Winnetka). Entry points are at every major street along the path.

The path opened to cyclists in late 2005, while the busway itself was still being tested.
The OrangeLine, a bus rapid transit system that runs from Warner Center/Woodland Hills to the North Hollywood Red Line station, was opened to the public on October 29, 2005.
It is claimed that bicycle travel in Los Angeles has become increasingly popular since the "bike boom" of the 1970s -- a period of time in which Los Angeles city and county authorities began painting bicycle lanes alongside the traffic lanes of major thoroughfares, and creating bicycle-only bike paths in others.
Bicycles are allowed on the Metrolink commuter rail system which connects the core of the city to the suburbs.
