Rotherham is a metropolitan borough of South Yorkshire, England. It is named for its main town, Rotherham. It is currently the safest Labour council in the country. Whilst other traditional strongholds nearby like Wakefield and Barnsley have seen something of a decline in Labour support, Rotherham has not experienced this; all but two seats were won by Labour in 2006.
