Miami Township is one of the nine townships of Montgomery County, Ohio. By Ohio law, the township is an unincorporated area that has a board of trustees, but does not have the same authority as an incorporated town, village or city. The township roughly surrounds the town of Miamisburg in southwestern Montgomery County. Although the area is unincorporated, it utilizes local property tax revenue to fund a police department independent of the Montgomery County Sheriff's department.
