Biography
City’s number one has firmly established himself between the posts since his arrival from Waterford United for a club record fee in October 2000. He has appeared in Cork’s last 105 successive league games - a club record - being ever present for the past three seasons and has played over 150 Premier Division matches for City, posting more than 50 clean sheets. He started out in schoolboy football with Springfield FC in Cobh, where he was capped at U15 and U16 levels, before attracting the interests of Middlesbrough. Following his four years at Ayresome Park he briefly moved on to Newcastle United and non-league Northallerton before returning to Ireland to link up with Cobh Wanderers and subsequently Cobh Ramblers. Only the legendary Phil Harrington has guarded the City nets more often.
