Michel Tilmant, (Belgian origin, born July 21, 1952) International Banker, CEO, Chairman Executive Board of ING Group. This calm but extremely agile thinker is a graduate from Louvain University in business administration, and also graduated at Louvain School for European Affairs. Michel Tilmant began his career with Morgan Guaranty Trust Company of New York. He held various positions within the company, including Head of European Investor Services (Paris, London), Head of Operations Services (New York), and General Manager of the Brussels branch (Brussels). In 1991 joined for one year Banque International à Luxembourg as the Vice-chairman Executive Committee and COO. From 1992 spend 8 years in Bank Brussels Lambert (BBL) first as Member of Executive Committee and from 1997 CEO. He joined the Executive Board of ING Group after acquisition of BBL by ING in 1998 and in the same year become Chairman of ING Barings. From year 2000 was appointed vice-chairman of ING Group. In addition, he was Chairman of the Executive Committee ING Europe, and finally in year 2004 was appointed chairman of the Executive Board of ING Group.
