Michelle Magorian is an English author of children's books, including Goodnight Mr Tom, Back Home and A Little Love Song. Goodnight Mister Tom is a 1981 novel by Michelle Magorian. ...



Back Home is set just after the Second World War, and features an English girl Rusty who had been sent away to the United States for the duration of the war. Her "American family" now feels like her real family, and her parents are almost strangers to her. She has to get used to a new life, to the differences in her family, and to the way people react to her as a "Yank", including the cruelty of fellow students at boarding school.
