Together with her psychiatrist Lawrence Pazder, she wrote the book Michelle Remembers, describing her recovered memories of having survived, with the assistance of the Virgin Mary and Jesus, satanic ritual abuse by her parents (Virginia and Jack Proby) and neigbors in Victoria, BC. This book was published in 1980 and was the first alleged survivor account of satanic ritual abuse. After being named the co-respondant ("other woman") in Dr. Pazder's divorce (which took place during the writing of Michelle Remembers) Michelle later divorced her husband to marry Dr. Pazder.


Michelle still lives in Victoria at 4525 Durling Place. She has two sisters (Tertia and Charyl), a half brother Richard and a daughter Tertia Ackinclose who all live in BC.
