Mickey Finn is a slang term for a drug-laced drink, given to someone without their knowledge in order to incapacitate them. Specifically, a Mickey Finn is a solution of chloral hydrate in alcohol. It is named for a mafia-tied bar tender in a Chicago speak-easy in the 1920s. Mickey would slip his unsuspecting patrons a drug in their drink to make them pass out and proceed to rob them blind. They are sometimes referred to as "knockout drops". Slang is the non-standard use of words in a language of a particular social group, and sometimes the creation of new words or importation of words from another language. ...
