Business and Education

Two major manufacturers of recreational vehicles, Jayco and Coachman, have production facilities in Middlebury. Syndicate Systems' largest facility, for the manufacture of retail shelving is also located in town.


The Middlebury Community School system attracts many families to the area. The system includes:

  • Jefferson Elementary School
  • Middlebury Elementary School - before 1968, this building housed Middlebury High School.
  • Orchard View Elementary School (built circa 1995 on same grounds as middle and high schools)
  • York Elementary School
  • Heritage Middle School (built in 1974, expanded in 1993)
  • Northridge High School (built in 1969, expanded in 1989, current planning to replace this facility)

The Middlebury Library opened in 1991, and was expanded a decade later.
