Encyclopedia > Miles O'Keeffe

Miles O'Keeffe (born June 20, 1954 in Ripley, Tennessee) is a television and movie actor. O'Keefe got his first big break playing the title role in Tarzan, the Ape Man. In the event, it was not much of a break. He is perhaps best remembered for his performance as Ator in three European movies made in the 1980s. This is especially true for the second Ator movie, which was featured on an episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K), which included one of the most quoted quips in MST3K history: "How much Keeffe is in this film?" "Miles O' Keeffe." Unlike some of MST3K's subjects (most notably Sandy Frank), O'Keeffe is considered to be a "good sport" and is a fan of the series. In 1973 Miles transferred to Missippi State university under a football scholarship where he bulked up to 240 pounds via a heavy regimen of weight lifting and played offensive lineman. Subsequently, he transferred to University of the South in Suwanee, Tenn and became a small college all American playing both ways as a Tight End and Linebacker.
