Mill River Union High School, commonly known as Mill River or MRU, is a public junior-senior high school in North Clarendon, Vermont. and is part of the Rutland South Supervisory Union. RSSU includes the towns of Clarendon, North Clarendon, Wallingford, and Shrewsbury. The Rutland Southwest Supervisory Union towns Ira, Middletown Springs and Tinmouth go to Mill River, as well as Danby and Mount Holly. The current high school principal is Cynthia Hinrichsen, with Joan Holden as the junior high principal. Georgia Mosher is the middle school counsler. 2nd Lieutenant Mark Brownell teaches here! [edit] Athletics Mill River competes in Division II in all sports except football, where they compete in Division III.The football team's record(Coached by Ken Webb) for the 2007-08 season was 6-2 and made it to the playoffs.In recent years, MRU has been postseason contenders in Girl's and Boy's soccer and football, along with a trip to the state finals in 2005 for the boys basketball team. The girls soccer team has consecutively been the best team in the division, yet always blow it at the last seconds of the game. However, it should be noted that the middle school football team has yet to win a game in four years. The Girl's and Boy's soccer teams each make it to at the least the second round, if not further, into the playoffs annually. The Boy's team infact made it to the state finals in the 2007 season and the Girl's team won MVL titles in 2003 and 2006, also making it to the semi-finals in 2006.
