When Millie finally reached world-wide fame it wasn't her music or acting career that took her to stardom but, instead it was a very famous athlete who turned her famous. In early 2000 the world knew who Millie Corretjer was as she became famously well known when she began dating the very world wide famous boxer, Oscar De La Hoya. Unfortunetly, Millie's career didn't become as famous as she did when she began dating Oscar but, the small career that she had, before dating Oscar, was enough for Oscar to make him notice her and want to meet her. When Oscar set his eyes on music he began taking singing lessons with Millie's past vocal coach. Oscar didn't know that he was working with her past vocal coach and he certainly didn't know who Millie Corretjer was. During a singing lesson in the studio while trying to record songs for his album, Oscar was having difficulty trying to sing with more passion so his vocal coach told him that he was going to show him a music video from one of his past students so Oscar could get the idea of what singing with more passion meant, the music video he showed Oscar was " De Hoy en Adelante " one of Millie's music video. When Oscar saw the video he asked his vocal coach who was the women in the video and what was her name. His vocal coach said she was a Puerto-Rican singer and actress named Millie Corretjer that took singing lessons with him when he was her vocal coach and Millie his student. After watching the video Oscar demanded that Millie will be the model on his next music video because he really wanted to meet her. Oscar's vocal coach tried to get in contact with Millie once again and, he did, as he invited his past student to be the model in Oscar De La Hoya's music video. Despite the fact that Millie didn't know very well who Oscar De La Hoya was because she was from a small town in Puerto Rico and the only boxer she knew was her compatriot Puerto Rican boxer Tito Trinidad, Millie still told her past vocal coach that she accepted to be the model in Oscar's music video.
