Milltown is a town located in Polk County, Wisconsin. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 1,146. The Village of Milltown is located within the town.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 86.7 km² (33.5 mi²). 80.9 km² (31.2 mi²) of it is land and 5.8 km² (2.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 6.69% water.

Demographics

As of the census² of 2000, there are 1,146 people, 441 households, and 336 families residing in the town. The population density is 14.2/km² (36.7/mi²). There are 811 housing units at an average density of 10.0/km² (26.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 98.78% White, 0.26% Black or African American, 0.87% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.09% from two or more races. 0.44% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 441 households out of which 31.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 67.3% are married couples living together, 6.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 23.8% are non-families. 17.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 5.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
