Encyclopedia > Milton, Australia

Milton is a suburb of Brisbane, Australia, located quite close to the inner city district. The core of Milton's social life takes place in Park Road, home to many trendy restaurants and cafés. On the other side of the railway are the famous XXXX brewery, and recently renovated 'Suncorp Metway Stadium' (aka. Lang Park). Many matches of the 2003 Rugby World Cup, including the opening game, were played here.

Visitors generally come to Milton either to watch Rugby league at the stadium, or for an evening of ten-pin bowling followed by coffee and cake at Park Road. 'Milton Bowl' is a fairly small bowling alley, but is frequented as it is one of the few in Brisbane, and the only one near the inner city.
