Desann was a lizard-like humanoid of the Chistori species. He was once a Jedi apprentice of Luke Skywalker, but killed one of the Jedi teachers and turned to the dark side of the Force. Desann became one of the two leaders (the other was Admiral Galak Fyyar) of an Imperial Remnant faction and searched for the Valley of the Jedi. Only two known people knew the location of the Valley of the Jedi: Kyle Katarn and his partner Jan Ors. Desann and his student Tavion captured Jan Ors on Artus Prime, a mine for unique crystals. Kyle tried to rescue his friend, but Desann commanded Tavion to kill Jan Ors.This was, however, a ruse to motivate Kyle to go to the Valley, and Jan remained alive on the Remnant flagship, Doomgiver. Kyle, thinking that Jan was dead, went to the Valley of the Jedi to increase his power and control of the force in order to avenge her death. Kyle was followed and thus unwittingly played right into Desann's trap by revealing the location of The Valley of the Jedi. Desann created a army of Dark Jedi warriors, called "Reborns" and "Shadowtroopers" by infusing the force into Artusian crystals and using them on stormtroopers, giving them the ability to use the Force. He attacked the Jedi Academy of Luke Skywalker, but Kyle stopped him by destroying his capital ship Doomgiver, thereby destroying most of his army. Maw was an alien on the side of Jerec and a Jedi. He participated on the death of Morgan KAtarn. Maw lost his legs to Qu Rahn and was defeated later in battle by Kyle Katarn. Maw's remarks on his father's death made Kyle mad and killed him while unarmed, bringing himself close to the Dark Side.

Motti, Romodi

Admiral Romodi Motti was one of the high ranking officers aboard the first Death Star. He was one of many officers who were overconfident of the station's invulnerability. He thought that, even if the Rebels did obtain the complete schematics of the station, any assault would be completely futile. Motti even didn't believe in the true power of the Force, thinking the Death Star was far more powerful. Darth Vader personally changed his opinion by using a brief Force chokehold on him. In the time of the Old Republic, Seerdon was a military officer. When the Galactic Empire formed, Palpatine made Seerdon governor of the Taloraan. During the Galactic Civil War, Seerdon was one of the most dangerous enemies of Rogue Squadron. His ruthless strategies and well known ambition tocontrol bacta supplies made him one of the first targets in Star Wars. His anger was well known and Kasan Moor (former Imperial commander) claimed that the man in charge of Toloraan at the time of the attack would wind up dead. When Rogue Squadron attacked the snow planet Fest and destroyed his Imperial weapons research facility, Seerdon attacked Chandrila, homeworld of the Rebel Alliance supreme commander-in-chief of state Mon Mothma. Rogue Squadron stopped his attack, but Seerdon invaded Thyferra and took control of bacta. Without bacta fluid, the Rebel Alliance couldn't heal wounded troops. During their duel on Bespin, Darth Vader sliced off Luke Skywalker's right hand, sending it, and his lightsaber, falling into the depths of Cloud City. Believed lost by Skywalker, the hand and its weapon were eventually found. The hand was stored along with the lightsaber in the Emperor's private storehouse in Mt. Tantiss. When Joruus C'baoth became the Guardian of Wayland, he found the storehouse, and Luke's hand. Cell sample B-2332-54 was taken from the hand, and became the basis for the clone of Luke Skywalker. The Empire maintained a series of working spaarti cloning cylinders in Mt. Tantiss, and it was within one of these that Luuke Skywalker was grown. Though cloning technology had advanced since the days of the Clone Wars, the process was not perfected. The creation and growth acceleration of Luuke was rushed, meaning the clone became mentally unstable. Luuke was given little independence, and was largely controlled by the mental influence Joruus C'baoth himself. That Joruus was also insane did not improve Luuke's chances.

Luuke was created as nothing more than a mindless killer, and he was tasked with the destruction of Luke Skywalker, should the Jedi refuse to join C'baoth. Then, Joruus would at least have one version of Skywalker as his apprentice. Luke faced the clone in the Mt. Tantiss throne room, when he, Mara Jade and the heroes of the Alliance staged an attack on Wayland. Using the lightsaber that was once Anakin Skywalker's, Luuke fought his 'parent' in a vicious battle across the throne room. C'baoth was able to control Luuke and battle his other enemies - a testament to his dark powers.

However, C'baoth could not stop the intervention of luck. Though C'baoth was able to disarm Han and Leia Organa Solo, Mara Jade managed to grab Leia's lightsaber. Confused, C'baoth let his guard down, and Mara launched into action. Luke had led his clone towards a panel of viewscreens, and baited Luuke into slicing one with his sabre. Sparks flew into the clone's face, causing him to cry out - the first sound he made during the entire battle. Turning in confusion, Luuke was killed by Mara. With the Emperor's last command now fulfilled, in a fashion - to kill Luke Skywalker - Mara was free to kill C'baoth himself. Luuke's lightsaber was recovered by Luke and presented to Mara as a gift.

Ventress, Asajj

Asajj Ventress is a Dark Jedi, and one of Darth Tyranus's (Count Dooku) Force-sensitive operatives. Asajj wielded twin lightsabers given to her by Count Dooku himself, lightsabers which were specially modified to connect into a double-bladed lightsaber. She became cold-hearted and merciless from a lifetime of enduring cruel hardships that began when Osika Kirske murdered her parents while she was young. Because of this, Asajj was as skilled as any Jedi but was unable to control her rage, developing a hatred for the Jedi that had abandoned her mentor and had ignored the bloodshed on Rattatak. Yun was the youngest, newest and most unexperienced of Jerec's Dark Jedi, which made him the 'noblest'. He was the first to be confronted by Kyle Katarn, but defeated. To his surprise, Katarn denied to execute him while unarmed and carried on to his mission.

Much later, when Kyle was found unconscious, Sariss attempted to kill him. Yun was there and remembering that Kyle let him live, blocked Sariss' blow, who instinvtively redirected her lightsabre against Yun. Before expiring, he reminded Sariss that Kyle didn't deserve to die cowardly, but in battle.

Xizor

Prince Xizor (Shee-zor) is a major villain in the novel Shadows Of The Empire. He is a Falleen, and leader of the powerful criminal organization Black Sun in the time between the Battle of Hoth and the end of the Galactic Civil War. The book portrayed Xizor as a rival of Darth Vader, largely the result of a mixture of ambition and hatred. The latter arose when Vader obliterated much of Xizor's homeworld from orbit to halt the spread of a plague, killing most of Xizor's family in the process. Learning of Vader's quest for Luke, Xizor attempted to have the young Skywalker killed to humiliate his adversary. Xizor also persuaded Palpatine to let the plans for the second Death Star fall into rebel hands.
