The District of Mirditë (Albanian: Rrethi i Mirditës) is one of the thirty-six districts of Albania. It has a population of 37,000 (2004 estimate), and an area of 867 km2. It is in the north of the country, and its capital is Rrëshen. Other places in this district include Kurbnesh and Rubik. Albanian or Gjuha shqipe is a language spoken by more than six million inhabitants of the western Balkan peninsula (Albania, Serbia and Montenegro, Macedonia, Greece) in south_eastern Europe (Albanians) and by a small number of people in Calabria, southern Italy. ...
