Synopsis
Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow. Bowser is furious because he's planning to rob the Pipe Maze's Coin Treasury, but can't think of a way of how to do it without Mario foiling his plans. He is then informed of that Larry is pulling things from his television using his wand - an idea that Bowser decides to use to his advantage. Using Larry's wand, he warps Mighty Plumber, Mario and Luigi's favorite TV superhero, into his castle and tells him that two evil plumbers are trying to steal from the Pipe Land Treasury, and he needs help hiding it from them. King Bowser Koopa, as seen in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door King Bowser Koopa, known in Japan as Koopa (Japanese: ã¯ãã), a fictional turtle-like character from Nintendo video games, is Mario and Luigis arch-nemesis (although he has joined forces with them in a few games). ...

Meanwhile, at Toad's House, the Mario Bros. have been watching The Adventures of Mighty Plumber and are wondering why the titular character has suddenly disappeared. A Ptooey suddenly delivers them a fire message from Bowser about his plan to steal the Pipe Maze Treasury. Sure enough, the Mario Bros. arrive to stop Bowser, who has already convinced Mighty Plumber to fight them. The Marios escape into the Treasury with Bowser and Mighty Plumber in hot pursuit. Upon arriving at the vault he was going to rob, Bowser reveals the truth to Mighty Plumber, who loses his confidence as a result of this. But the Marios reappear and help Mighty Plumber back on his feet. Upon returning to his castle, Bowser gives the stolen Coins to Larry, but Mario jumps on him and makes him put Mighty Plumber back in the TV world, and then he uses Larry's wand to transport the Coins back to the treasury.
Trivia/Goofs - Prior to this episode, Michael Maurer previously wrote for Donkey Kong on The Saturday Supercade.
- This plot of a superhero was reused in the Captain N episode, "I Wish I was a Wombatman" and the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog episode "Over the Hill Hero", both which were also created by DiC.
- When the Mighty Plumber show returns after commercials, the background on the set is shown to be Bowser's Castle rather than the kitchen it's supposed to be set in.
- When he and Luigi meet Mighty Plumber, Mario claims that they "brought [their] TV from Brooklyn so they could watch [his] show." This seems impossible, given that the Mario Bros. stumbled into the Mushroom Kingdom warp zone on accident (as shown in the animated segment intro on The Super Mario Bros. Super Show) and obviously did not have their TV with them when it happened. However, considering how frequently the characters visit Earth in this series, he probably meant they went back to Brooklyn to pick up a TV.
- Since the episode takes place outside the "real world," there is no explanation on how "Mighty Plumber" appered on the Mario Bros.' and the Koopa television sets.
- When Mighty Plumber defeats the monster, the clog's color is a different green than in the other scenes. It was a much lighter green before.
- When Koopa says "Oh, Mighty Plumber", briefly his right nostril is missing. You have to be really quick to see this.
- As Larry Koopa is running away from Mighty Plumber near the end, his face is tan. A few moments after at the close up, it is the usual green.
- When King Koopa first sees The Mighty Plumber TV show, there's a scene where the screaming woman on TV suddenly appears to be inside King Koopa's castle on TV instead of her house (where the "show" is supposed to take place). In the next shot, she reappears back in her kitchen with the monster.
- When Koopa is throwing his tantrum, part of the rim of his shell turns the same color as his skin, over and over!
- When Koopa says he found the map, both Morton's and Roy's heads have turned orange!
- When Lemmy and Iggy get in the racecar, Iggy's eyeballs have turned blue!
- When Mighty Plumber opens the pipe, the water is blue. But when the water hits Koopa, it turns brown!
- When Koopa points to the Mario Bros, the spikes on his bracelet turn red!
- When Koopa and Mighty Plumber go up the purple pipe, you'll note that it has shifted over from the previous spot!
- Larry's face turns orange when he is running from Mighty Plumber!
- When Mario takes Larry's wand away, Mario's shoes are now coloured light purple!
- When Mario says "Do your thing, Cheatsy," his mouth isn't moving!
- When the plumber snake goes after the Marios, it's green. It turns red when it is aimed at Koopa!
- When Mario jumps down the pipe after he notices Luigi is in trouble, his shoes turn purple! This one is very quick!
- When Luigi tells Mighty Plumber about the pipe battering ram trick, the L and the white circle on his cap keep flickering!
- When Luigi drops in on Koopa, look quickly and you'll see him flashing a moonie!
- When Mario says "Count on it, Luigi," look at the window and you'll see that it's raining outside.
