Contestant notes

  • Although listed in the official site, contestants from Bahamas, Cameroon, Ghana and Sudan, never made it to the pageant. Vietnam and Congo were the last contestants to arrive, missing the initial press conference; Thailand changed their delegate at the last minute.
  • Israel, a country which did consistently well in the contest, stopped sending delegates in 2006. Israeli organizer Laisha Magazine is planning to send the slot saved for Miss International before to Miss Earth. Same happened to Nicaragua.
  • The Miss International 2007 pageant was supposed to take place in both Japan and China from September 30th to October 28th. Apparently Chinese sponsors backed out of the deal, and the finals will take place in Tokyo, Japan, October 15th.
  • Alice Panikian, Miss International Canada, declined her participation necause her University did not give her permission to be absent that long from her studies. Justine Stewart from Victoria, British Columbia, competed in her place.
  • Indonesia sent their first participant after 30 years of absence and she reached the Top 15.

  • For the 10th time only in the history of the Miss Hong Kong pageant, the second runner up does not compete at Miss International. Usually the second runner up of the national pageant competes at Miss International but the organizers of the pageant, TVB chosen Miss Grace Wong Kwan Hing, first runner up of Miss Hong Kong 2007 to compete.
