Mmabatho ("Mother of the People") was a town near Mafikeng, South Africa. It was the capital of the former Bantustan of Bophuthatswana. Following the end of apartheid in 1994, Mmabatho was merged with Mafikeng, and it became capital of the newly-created North West Province.
